According to Maplecroft, a British risk advisory firm, Bangladesh, Indonesia and Iran are most vulnerable when it comes to the issue of natural disasters. The list of disasters include earthquakes, volcanic eruptions, tsunamis, storms, flooding, drought, landslides, heatwaves and epidemics. The Natural Disasters Risk Index draws on a basket of indicators, including the number and frequency of natural disaster events, the total deaths that were caused and the death toll as a proportion of the country's population.
